Form Carpenter

We are recruiting for a masonry contractor who is seeking a Form Carpenter to join their team. This local business is one of the leading commercial and waterfront home specialists in the Sarasota area.
Job summary:
Responsible for building, installing, and repairing form structures for pouring concrete, using different types of materials including wood and steel and assist with other assorted job-site duties for the completion of construction projects as required.
Schedule: 7AM-5PM, Open availability required.
Salary: $22.00/Hour

Experience:
- Required: Two (2) or more years in a laborer’s or construction role
- Preferred: Five (5) or more years in the construction industry as a Carpenter or other similar trade position.
Skills, knowledge and abilities:
- Capable of using a variety of hand and power tools, such as cutting saws, drills, etc. and survey instruments
- An ability to perform physical labor, including the ability to carry heavy loads, climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and high platforms
- Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools
- Ability to consistently arrive to work at least 10 minutes prior to shift starting time on a regular basis, and work irregular hours, weekends and overtime hours, when required.
Environmental requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee will work primarily outdoors on a regular basis. From this environment conditions, the employee will encounter:
- Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, rain, and temperature above 90 degrees, adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen.
- The employee is regularly exposed to; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat.
Carpentry & construction:
- Build and erect wood structures for pouring concrete utilizing survey and leveling instruments, basic hand and power tools and equipment
- Furnishing and installing other carpentry components for construction masonry
- Cleaning masonry and removing surplus material and waste
- Perform manual work functions associated with department projects (which may include lifting/moving heavy materials, shoveling materials, picking up debris/litter, placing signage, etc.).
Transportation:
- Required: Responsible for transportation to and from all jobsites.
- Gather appropriate equipment, tools, materials and supplies for use at work sites; initiate requests for additional materials; transport materials to job sites.
- Transport, load and unload various equipment and materials used in projects.
